Excel - Find and color cells with notes

Making a cell yellow when a note is attached to the cell.

I use cell notes as a “todo” / “revisit” later hint. The little red (or green) mark in the cell corner does not scream “hey look at me” when there is a lot of data to look at.

Step by Step

Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-g to bring up the “Go to” dialog a below.

Click the special button and make sure note is selected

When you click ok, all of the cells in the sheet with notes will be selected. Select the ‘paint can’ icon to fill the cells with the color of your choice.
